Spent a few hours yesterday fly fishing at Cheesman with Dad and my new fly rod!  So great to be out there attempting to catch some trout.  Can't wait to go again...

Colorado Adventures

Hello Friends!

Never quite knew what to do with this blog until now.  My wife and I recently moved to Colorado (best move location-wise thus far!) and we've already been gnaring all kinds of adventures!  I figured this blog would be a great way to share with you some the amazing things we get to experience here in the Rocky Mountains.  Enjoy!

When I grow up...

I swear, this guy is who I wanna be in 10 years.  Serious.

Pipes are so great.  I have a couple myself and they only come out when the moment is right...when the situation calls for intentional contemplation.  I think it no small coincidence that my favorite thinkers were pipe smokers...

Becoming a reality...

We're moving on Saturday.  Whew, all this migration to C.O. is slowing becoming a reality.  The house sold where we are currently caretakers and we have to move out by this weekend and in to Jen's aunt and uncle's house.  You know, it's not that bad considering this house really never was our "home" and at the end of the summer (when we actually do make it to Colorado), we'll be able to have a place of our own for the first time since we've been married!  Awesome!  Who wouldn't look forward to that?!  Anyway, God has been trying to teach us patience, I just need to listen and obey!  It's tough.  There is definitely a downside to letting the church know MONTHS in advance that we're leaving.  I know it's less courteous, but it would have been so nice to have waited till the end, then let them know we're leaving 2 weeks before it happens.  Would have saved us a lot of cold-shoulder-ness.  lol...  What do ya do?

On a brighter note,  God's got all this planning done for us and we're given the opportunity to follow Him.  That's the exciting part!

Music manipulates the world-view.  You're in a bad mood, you're feeling depressed, you're anxious about your next payment, but pop on a little Donovan Frankenreiter, a little Bob Marley, a little Vivaldi...you're pulse slows, you take a deep breath, and the world's a little less hostile.  Hat's off to the musicians and...

Night time...

Sittin here listening to Jack Johnson, looking up fly fishing gear and thinking of the outdoors...it's a chill night.  If I could, I'd hook up some tunes to this here website so that you could groove to what's moving me now!  Bawbadoobadoop...cha!



I like to surf.  But I stink at it.  Actually, what I do really can't be called surfing.  In the gnarly "waves" on the Long Island coast, we get about 3 seconds of ridable wave then SMASH! you're in the sandbar, eatin shell salad.  Anyway, 'bout time I visited that broskee of mine in CA and tried out some fo-real waves!  Who's in?!
